Software Architect
Key Responsibilities
Own end-to-end software and system architecture across applications, middleware, data, networking, and security.
Assess existing architectures and drive improvements in performance, scalability, resilience, and security.
Lead integration of complex subsystems, APIs, messaging platforms, sensors, and third-party solutions.
Act as the senior technical escalation point and define high availability, redundancy, and failover strategies.
Provide hands-on technical support during integration, testing, FAT/SAT, and production implementation.
Lead design and code reviews and establish software engineering and CI/CD standards.
Embed security-by-design principles and support hardening, VA/PT remediation, and security accreditation.
Support solutioning, technical proposals, architecture presentations, and effort estimation during pre-sales.
Requirements
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
8+ years of software/system engineering experience, including 3+ years in an architecture role.
Proven experience architecting and delivering complex systems end-to-end.
Strong hands-on development and debugging experience with Java, C#/.NET, C++, Python, or similar technologies.
Strong knowledge of APIs, messaging, system integration, Linux/Windows, containers/virtualization, and networking.
Good understanding of high availability, performance, cybersecurity, and secure system architecture.
Experience in government, defence, CII, or other mission-critical environments is highly advantageous.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers, management, developers, and vendors.
Nice to have: C2/command centre systems, GIS, radar or EO/IR sensor integration experience, and certifications such as TOGAF or CISSP.
